BIOGRAPHY: Gérard VIELLEVIE was born a French painter, born in La Queue Les Yvelines, near Paris in 1939. He studied at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris. A student of the classics and a former student of the renowned national high school of decorative artists in Paris, he was inspired by the art of the Post-Impressionists and created sculptures and mosaics based on his inherent interest in this style. He began to make bas-reliefs, sculptures and frescoes for many schools and town halls in cities such as Paris, Cannes, Strasbourg, Lille and Saint-Tropez, which now exist in many hotels in these cities. He was close to the painter Paul Aïzpiri.

True to the tradition of the main post-impressionist painters such as Van Gogh, Vieillevie's work is made up of still lifes, lush gardens and flora. His work has been exhibited in Paris, Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul, and he received the gold medal from the International Lion's Club for painting (1974). He died in 1992. Posthumously, in 1993, a major exhibition at the Katia Granoff gallery was devoted to him.
